My daughters and granddaughters are having so much fun with the memory games…very clever ways to keep the little ones thinking and recalling information. Thanks so much!

We received a progress report for our third grade son informing us that he was significantly far behind in math, especially because he did not appear to have a grasp on his math facts. Then I realized that I had recently received a gift copy of ASK MRS. SMILEY. I did exactly what she told me to do to get his addition and subtraction facts straight. It was so fast and easy. So then I decided to push my luck on his times tables. He took to those just as easily! So a few weeks after the alarming progress report, I arrived to my parent/teacher conference, hoping to hear some better news. Imagine my surprise when she told me that my boy had gone from the bottom to the top of the class!

My three boys love AMS so much that they put those colorful, sticky post-it flags on their favorite pages. It has become their big “go-to” book if they are struggling with a new lesson at school. They love it, and so do I!

We just love those parenting tips! Just last week we used the tip on p.16: DO NOT BAG PACK. We were getting ready to travel and tasked our kiddos (5 and 6) to organize their own clothes and airplane amusements. This way, their fun was their own responsibility. It really worked!

Your emphasis on the child achieving spontaneity convinced me to use more drills of those fact families. S and I are now using those neon index cards on the table, jumping to them on the floor, and playing War to win the stack. Thank you…your simple, yet effective tips are breathing new life into our math lessons at a time of the school year when academics can become a bit stale. I am grateful to you for sharing your gift of helping children learn with confidence.

I have used AMS-provided methods to help a student achieve automaticity with multiplication, and teachers are very pleased with his growth, also. I used the colorful flash cards, the train, the T graph, and positive, low pressure.

I have been working with four of my children and using the felt pieces on the flannel board very successfully. These methods are really helping one of my children become far more confident in her math as she implements them. Having a fun system in place for mastering math facts is helpful.
